According to the World Bank, small/medium businesses represent about 90% of all businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. With data like that, it is clear why Google would want to invest $340 million dollars in advertising for SMBs. Here is the latest information (April 20, 2020) on Google's initiative to help small/medium businesses.
Small and medium-sized businesses globally, who have spent with a Google Ads account in ten out of twelve months of 2019, and in January and/or February of this year will be eligible.
Google will be releasing ad credits on a rolling basis in late May to eligible businesses.
The ad credits can be used for future ad spend until the end of 2020.
The amount of the ad credit will depend on a number of criteria including past Google Ads spend, currency, and country where the business/Google Ads account is set up.
Each eligible customer will receive one ad credit. It doesn't matter if a customer advertises with multiple accounts or multiple campaign types within an account only one ad credit will be granted per customer.
